Overview:
Alfama is one of the oldest districts of Lisbon and has maintained much of the character it had centuries ago. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple or as a family, like us, you’ll love exploring this small village-like area of Lisbon. Kids and adults alike love the incredible Castelo São Jorge set atop the hills of Alfama.
A short distance away you’ll find the historic Monastery of São Vicente de Fora where some of the most incredible tilework in Portugal is located. Wander the steep narrow streets filled with old age charm, stop at the miradouros to enjoy some of the best views in Lisbon and enjoy traditional Portuguese food at its finest.
