A One Month South African Road Trip: Driving from Kruger to Cape Town

South Africa Road Trip safety advice and what to see

A road trip through South Africa . . . sounds amazing right? But where would you even start with regard to planning? Well, right here in fact. If you are planning a road trip and want to visit many of the top attractions in South Africa, this post is for you.

What to see in a South Africa road trip

The post comes from Erin, who runs her blog Sol Salute. Erin travels with her husband and, much like myself, embrace slow travel. In this post, they spend one-month driving from Kruger National Park near, Johannesburg, to the other side of the country, Cape Town. As well as their recommendations, the blog has loads of advice and safety tips about driving in South Africa. Here’s what Erin has to say:

Driving to Kruger National Park

“South Africa is a country that really lends itself to road trippers. There’s just SO much to see! We crossed the country in one month, starting with a safari in Kruger and ending on a beach near Cape Town. After our safari in Kruger, we explored Swaziland. We watched hippos in St. Lucia and ate amazing curry in Durban. We spent a lovely 6 days relaxing on the hard to get to (but totally worth it) Wild Coast. The safari continued to Addo Elephant Park. We swam with sharks and woke up with meerkats! There’s really no end to what you can do in South Africa, and the country is incredibly affordable and is accessible for any budget.”

As well as all that, the pictures are stunning! Enjoy A One Month South African Road Trip.
