The Extremadura region of Spain is probably the least visited by tourists. Sure it has ancient walled cities, Roman ruins, and great restaurants, but so does all of Spain. However, foodies know the region as the “pantry of Spain” because Spain’s best ingredients come from there.
I spent a week walking the fields and pastures, harvesting the pick of the crops, and learning what was made from them. Then I ate! This is a brief overview of where the well-known foods of Spain originate and how they are used. Enjoy!
