Have you ever heard of Christmas Island? It’s an Australian external territory (that is actually closer to Indonesia than the mainland) and with only 120 guest beds on the island alongside around 2000 permanent residents, it’s easy to see why the endemic Christmas Island Red Crab (of which there are over 50 million!) are often the star of the show! It’s an off the beaten path eco-paradise just waiting to be explored, perfect for nature lovers, bird lovers and scuba divers – or simply for those who want to visit somewhere unique and untouched.
