Visiting Rottnest Island, the complete lowdown

Rottnest Island, or Rotto to the locals, is a small island off the coast of Western Australia. With a permanent population of around 100 people, the island is only a little over 7 square miles in size but attracts around 500,000 visitors each year.

If you are visiting Perth then taking a day to explore this little rock is highly recommended. I found this great blog from Michela at Rocky Travel, a blog specialising in discovering Australia. In it, she highlights some of the best bits to see on the island to ensure you make the most out of your visit. It’s simple, easy to understand and has some lovely pictures that will want you to hop on the ferry tomorrow . . . oh . . . and how cute are those Quokkas?
