Valentine’s Day is a wonderful time to shower your loved one with kisses and romance, often accompanied by a little prezzie. But if you are lacking a little inspiration this year, and your partner loves to travel, you have come to the right place.
Below is a roundup of 26 different Valentine’s gift ideas, all themed around travel. I have organized them into three sections, Planning, about to leave and just returned.
What’s better, is almost all of them are part of Amazon Prime, so if you’re in need of last-minute Valentine’s gifts, Amazon’s magical delivery times may be just what you need.
Final note – there are some differences between the UK and US Amazon stores so if the exact item isn’t in Amazon.co.uk. I have found a close alternative.
So . . . whether you are looking for Valentine’s gifts for him, unique presents for her, or even just want to do some inspiration or do shopping for yourself, hopefully, you will find what you are looking for in here . . .

Travel gifts and inspiration for planners
1. Kindle
Before any adventure starts, there is a lot of planning to do, guides to read and then even more hours spent on public transport . . . like lots of hours. Kick things off the right way and go digital. I never thought you could replace the feel of a good book, and in fact, this doesn’t, but it does mean it’s possible to take a library in your hand luggage.
2. 1000 Places to see before you die
Possibly the ultimate travel inspiration book – help your partner get that bucket list sorted!
3. Sexy travel crafted moneybox
Saving is a lot easier when you can see your progress. I love this glass-fronted money box, super stylish and would make a great Valentine’s day gift for him or her.
4. Travel the world without worries
Maybe your loved one is a bit nervous about the AWESOME trip ahead, it’s understandable. If that’s the case, this great guide from travel guru Marek Bron could be the perfect nudge in the right direction.
5. Our adventure book journal
One of the best gifts I ever received was a journal, it let me keep easy notes and ideas while traveling and may be responsible for this entire blog. I love this one with its olde world look and places to stash important documents. It will part of the whole journey, from planning to homecoming.
6. How to shit around the world
OK, done giggling? You may laugh, but this is a serious issue, especially the first time you are faced with a bum gun in Thailand. Short of buying a years supply toilet paper, this is your next best option, learn to do it like the locals!?
Travel gift ideas for those with one foot out the door
7. Pillowdy hoodie – with built-in travel pillow
What’s not to love here! Pillowdy, a Smart Design, combines a Hoody jacket with an air neck pillow. Its special structure allows air to pass through easily and lets the user inflate and deflate the neck pillow within seconds. If you don’t want to travel with a separate pillow, here’s your answer!
8. Personalized bracelet
For some reason, traveling on a long journey often coincides with getting a massive bracelet collection around your wrist, so why not get a head start? With a range of colors available this is a great personalized Valentine’s gift for him or her.
9. The ultimate travel pillow
It supports, it keeps necks warm, packs up small and comes in a range of colors. This is a pretty sweet invention. If you’re getting one for your partner, get one for yourself too or you will be super jealous for sure!
10. The pear pillow
While we’re on travel pillows how about this one? What can be more romantic than sharing a partner on those long-ass bus journeys? Well, luckily the Pear Pillow is here. Both use it, make them carry it, perfect.
11. Mini espresso maker
Does your partner love the idea of travel but reluctant to leave some of the creature comforts of home behind? Such as good coffee? Well, I’ve got that sorted, take it everywhere with you and never miss a hit of good Joe.
12. Tripod selfie stick – $16.95
Essential equipment for the modern traveler, the selfie stick. What I love about this one is the fact it also becomes a small tripod, perfect for taking self-timer shots of the two of you or filming those awesome hyperlapse videos of sunsets . . . or anything really.
13. Ultimate survival kit for badasses
Half of the stuff in here I don’t even know what it’s for, but those who travel off the grid will be all over it. Everything you need in one little kit for ultimate wilderness badassery.
14. New passport cover
Keep their passport in top notch condition on the outside, while collecting stamps on the inside. These simple yet stylish covers even incorporate a radio jammer to stop anyone skimming any NFC cards or bits in there. Get one for yourself while you’re at it #matching.
15. Travel perfume sets
Alright, pretty damn unoriginal. But, they’re super cute miniature which also means you can take them in your hand luggage to keep on smelling fresh during those loooong flights.
For Her
For Him

The music you listen to on your travels is so important. Once you’re back, without knowing it, there will be a few songs that are implanted in your brain, and every time you hear them, you smile like a lunatic as your mind wanders back to those carefree traveling adventures. So why not look stylish while implanting?
17. Bose SoundLink Flex Bluetooth waterproof speaker
Why keep the implanting to yourselves? Be the party.
18. The zombie survival guide
So this is a standard pre-departure check . . .
“OK . . . do you have your tickets?”
“Yes”
“Passport?”
“Yep”
“Money?”
“Yaaars”
“Great, have a safe trip.”
Imagine how stupid you’d feel if suddenly there was a zombie invasion and because of those, quite simply, lazy checks, it’s one hell of a WTF moment. But, avoid that from ever happening and be prepared with a Zombie Survival Guide.
19. The carry on cocktail kit
If, like me, your partner needs a drink or two or three or (you get the point) while during flying to keep the nerves under control, they’ll surely love the chance to class it up a little bit with a nifty cocktail kit.
20. Personalized luggage tags
We all love personalized Valentine’s Day gifts, and if you are looking for a perfect one for your travels, this could be it.
21. Burt Bees fabulous essentials travel set
For pampering at 38000 feet!
22. Smart luggage tag
Never lose luggage again with these amazing gadgets. Well, the airline could possibly still misplace it, but with these nifty little tracking badges, you’ll always know where it is, even if it’s in Hong Kong and you’re in Helsinki.
23. The brief safe hidden contents travel passport wallet
Hotel Safe? That’s the first place any robber will look. Make sure valuables are kept safe at all times in these tighty whities with a hidden secret. Leave your valuables in the middle of the hostel floor, no-one will dare touch them. And besides, what screams Valentine’s Day more than some dirty underwear!
Travel gifts for travelers recently returned wanderers
24. World scratch map
Relive those travels every day with this gorgeous scratch map. Looks amazing anywhere in the house and includes scratchable US States.
25. Vintage look world globe with magnetic pins
What better way to relive your travels than pinning them out on a globe. Personally, I love this vintage look, but there are other colors available if your partner is more of the contemporary type.
26. Bound scrapbook and photo album
This gorgeous looking vintage album and scrapbook is the perfect way to collect the story of your travels together for years to come.
27. Globe decanter
Possibly my favorite thing ever, what’s not to love about this? Fill it up with your favorite spirit and just gawp in awe at it. Perfect for those who like to sip on a short in the evenings and dream of happy travel memories. Pass the glass.
The wrap
So there you have it. I hope you have found something on this list that you know your partner will love, or at least found some inspiration. Let me know in the comments which is your favorite item on the list.
But just remember one thing, we all know Valentine’s Day is special, it’s not just about presents or objects, so be sure to give your partner what they truly want, an around-the-world plane ticket?

Good list of things to think about for Valentine’s day
This is such a great list! Many of these items would come in handy!
So many great gift ideas! That Mini Espresso Maker looks awesome! I want one for myself, just to have.
I have to admit that this was not the typical list I expected, which is great! I appreciate the variety and versatility of ideas for both genders. Thank you for the time and effort that went into creating this list!
Such a wide range of ideas here! I love it! My husband would go for the survival kit or espresso maker hands down. Had a little chuckle about the dirty underpants to keep your valuables in but my favorite is the kindle! The little globe is such a great idea to keep those pins without taking up the space of a map!
The adventure book journal and the bound scrapbook!!!! OMG! So vintage and cool! Please send this post to my husband’s email and point at any of these 2 items. Make it look like an accident!
Nice ideas. Smart recovery tag especially sounded interesting.
I love this list and am definitely going to share it with friends and family back home for gift ideas around my birthday, (no valentine for me this year, I am too busy traveling!) I especially love the “brief safe:” such a weird but clever idea.
And for anyone torn on what to get a traveler: my kindle is my LIFE. I love that I can carry around my library everywhere I go and that it doesn’t weight a ton. It is the best gift for travelers who love to read.
These are awesome travel related items Matt. I love the globe decanter – what a fun idea. And that journal looks so beautiful. Well done!
“How to shit around the world”?..LOL….how appropriate. If only people knew the struggles…this is an awesome list.
Too right! I’m always amazed how different toilets are in every country.
Ok so I want the ‘Our Adventures’ book as that is beyond cute! I’m that person who documents everything so it’s perfect! So many great gifts to choose from though and really reasonably priced which is always great too
I love that book too, it looks very Indiana Jonesy!
I want the pear travel pillow and the personalized luggage tag! Me and hubby usually falls asleep even before the plane takes off!
Haha, as long as there is no dribbling!
This is such an amazing list ! I guess for someone like me, having good headphones, a kindle, a travel pillow, the mini espresso maker and a good camera would be the best gifts 🙂
Thanks, maybe start dropping some hints! I love the espresso maker too.
I love this list! It is filled with so many great ideas. The book about pooping cracks me up so bad. I’ve been to rule areas in both China and Nepal and it is culture shock for sure. Thank you for sharing. I am definitely saving this list!
Yes! The struggle is real, the first time I was faced with no toilet paper and a bum gun is one I’ll never forget!
